...time to start again
Back in high school, St. Francis had a tradition every christmas of asking certain school families to host events called Christmas at our House. The idea was that some of these very nice houses would be decorated tastefully for christmas, and other parents and school supporters could spend a saturday afternoon at a christmas gathering and enjoy the atmosphere. The purpose of all this was to raise money for the school. Of course, they would ask various members of the orchestra to perform live music at these events. While I quite enjoyed playing christmas music with the jazz band, the most enjoyable times was always playing piano accompaniment for a flute or violin. These days, I've long since forgotten how to play christmas tunes. Sunday's christmas caroling session rekindled a desire to pick a few of the tunes up again...
